Is it ok for men to use womens products for acne? ?
How important is it for men to use products aimed at men? There are so few products available to help fight mens acne, they all seem to be for beauty and women. So is it ok, and where can i find the best products for mild acne? No accuttane or antibiotic reccomendations please
It’s not a big deal to use products aimed at women. As long as your face isn’t smelling like lavender or something like that you shouldn’t feel emasculated.
If you have a lot of blackheads I recommend an astringent with salicylic acid. I used to use Biore. Stridex pads are pretty amazing. I use the maximum strength and they work pretty well.
If cystic acne (boil-like bumps) is your main problem, you should probably use a benzoyl peroxide cream. Any benzoyl peroxide cream should work. It should contain around 10% benzoyl peroxide. This is best used for spot treatment as it can dry out your face. In that case, I recommend an oil-free moisturizer. I’m sure they make some for men if you feel too weird buying moisturizer.
For severe acne, you should try a system such as Acne Free.
All of these products are available in drugstores.
